We are reopening in a careful, controlled, phased, safe manner Monday 29th June.
The safety of our patients and staff is paramount. To ensure everyone’s health and safety and so we provide you with the best safest care according to the most up to date guidance please can we ask for your cooperation with the following, so we work together for everyone’s safety. Please bear in mind we aim to now work longer hours to deal with demand / backlog however both treatment and cleandown times now have to be extended for ventilation and cleaning of the surgery and building so please bear with us as we get used to our ‘new normal’ to allow staff time to adjust to changes and ensure the surgery is decontaminated and where relevant ventilated between patients. Please rest assured the dental team is already highly trained in infection control and will adapt to new guidance to maintain the highest possible standards.
Thankyou for your understanding in these challenging times – The CFE Dental Team. Updated as of 4th June 2020.
We will be asking you both before your appointment and when you arrive screening questions about your Covid 19 status – apologies as this will be repetitive but necessary.
All staff are screened and have their temperatures taken daily prior to commencing work.
Given the small size of the building and the need for social distancing we will operate a form of “one in one out” except parents, carers and those of the same household (subject to the screening questions mentioned).
The reception area now has a perspex protective barrier screen.
For the foreseeable future we will be avoiding using the waiting room (except as above i.e.parents, persons from the same household, carers, or for those without a car and only if the weather is adverse, the inner door will be locked we will be asking patients to wait for a phone call in their car / outside or in your home if you live very close by .
If you attend the practice and another patient is on site please wait for a staff member to advise and signal you to come in and observe social distancing. We have placed a seat in the front garden for those without a car to take a seat outside and obviously only if weather conditions allow it.
Aside from parents / minors, carers please attend alone.
Please do email us a picture of any problems you currently have ahead of your appointment to assist our planning.
Medical histories, and money transactions will ideally be dealt with by one of the team via phone, email, or SMS. We have a new SMS service for medical history, however it requires a smartphone – if you don’t have a smartphone Graham/Caroline will update your medical by phone before you come in.
Please arrive promptly and wait in your car or outside, and call us to confirm your arrival, please then wait for one of the team to call you or come out to advise when we are ready to see you.
Please do not bring with you any excess baggage / clothing / articles.
If you require use of the bathroom please advise a staff member so environmental cleaning can then be provided.
On arrival we will take your temperature and ask you to place any unnecessary items into a plastic box.
We will ask you to gel /wash your hands and come straight to surgery.
We may look a little different. Please don’t be ‘put off’ by the PPE the team will be wearing now it is required for everyone’s safety, and it’s the ‘same old us’ underneath it all, here to help you and do our very best for you.
You may be asked to rinse with an antiviral mouthwash for 2 minutes before we begin any examination or treatment.
On leaving surgery please again gel / clean your hands and if there is anything to pay or any follow up appointment required this will ideally be done via contactless card transaction or over the phone or by email i.e. remotely
